Cinq fois Novembre is a harmonious blend of the energy of rock (guitar-base-drums), the mellowness of cello and piano, and a meticulous approach to composing and recording.

The story began, in Paris, in November 2001, between six young musicians hooked on Sigur Rós, Jeff Buckley, Dominique A, Brel (but also Ravel, Coltrane…). Their lyrics are in French, alternating between bitter-sweet and ironic verse. Their music is the product of a fine melodic aspiration and an original rhythmic architecture (fluid curves or clear-cut lines, depending on their mood). Two male voices resonate in harmony, in unison, in pursuit...

Cinq Fois Novembre’s music is more reminiscent of French lyrical song embracing a medley of untamed independent styles and Anglo-Saxon pop-rock influences (from the Beatles to Radiohead) than of traditional song. The conventional verse-chorus structure provided a starting point. But today, the group is exploring more adventurous arrangements procuring ever-changing buoyant and heady atmospheres. Gracious or extreme, according to the message.

In five years, Cinq fois Novembre has produced three maxi singles, has performed in several of the capital’s venues and has accepted attractive radio invitations. In February 2007, following encouragement from their « fans », the group took to the studios. A year-sessions gave finally birth to the group’s first album. Twelve tracks, nine songs and three instrumentals produced in professional conditions and in the best possible artistic circumstances. They are determined to meet the largest possible audience.

November-December 2004: Concerts, particularly at Le Biplan (Lille), Le Grand Mix (Tourcoing) and Le Baiser Salé (Paris).





December 2004: One-hour radio programme on France Inter, with Serge Levaillant, during « Sous les étoiles exactement »





August-December 2005: Recording of the 6 track EP « Réunir les ombres ».





February 2006: Distribution of the 6 track EP, review in Magic, concert at Nouveau Casino (Paris).





November 2006: Concert at Le Baiser Salé (with Sidi Ali as guest), one-hour radio programme on Radio Campus Paris (VF programme).





February 2007: Back in the studios. Cinq fois Novembre records its first album.
